At Utah Sports and Wellness, we are committed to helping you find relief from pain. Often this requires a combination of chiropractic techniques combined with other therapies. Our clinic has at its disposal a host of top-of-the-line treatments for your benefit.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a treatment that floods the body with oxygen and forces it into the blood by increasing atmospheric pressure. Each HBOT treatment at Utah Sports and Wellness has significant effects on the mobilization of stem progenitor cells and be helpful in many conditions ranging from Long COVID, to neurological and cardiovascular complaints. There are currently over 1400 published studies on www.pubmed.com on HBOT. There are 2 main types of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, HBOT and mHBOT or “mild” hyperbaric oxygen therapy: more accurately, high pressure and low pressure hyperbaric.
High pressure is generally referred to as high pressure HBOT, hospital grade HBOT, or just HBOT and is designated as above 2 absolute atmospheres. Low pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy referred to as mild Hyperbarics or mHBOT. This is hyperbaric oxygen administered at 1.3 absolute atmospheres. Each type of hyperbaric oxygen therapy has specific indications, advantages, and disadvantages. The higher pressures are useful in acute trauma like crush injuries and severe burns. Lower pressures are more effective for chronic systemic illnesses and neurological conditions. Current research and clinical observation are showing that, for many difficult-to-treat medical conditions, mild hyperbaric is proving to be a better tolerated and more effective treatment approach.

Massage
We have two on-site massage therapists. They cover a wide range of massage treatments, including what we call Clinical Massage. Clinical Massage is prescribed by the physician, focusing on specific soft tissue problems within the doctor’s treatment plan.
Having a focused massage offers the patient a significant advantage in achieving results faster as the therapist is informed about the patient before the visit. The therapist understands the patient’s needs as part of the treatment plan.
Clinical Massage uses an evidence-based approach by focusing on functional outcomes performed by the therapist. By combining AMIT, Chiropractic, and Clinical Massage, we can help you relieve pain, restore mobility, and speed up the overall healing process.
In addition, when you’re back to feeling great, a once per month massage along with your adjustment is an excellent way to stay healthy and keep those old problems from coming back.
Cold Laser
Cold laser therapy, also called low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive, painless, drug-free, and target-specific method of treatment. It operates under the principle of photobiomodulation, wherein external energy sets off a cascade of biochemical reactions. Like photosynthesis, energy is transferred into the production of ATP, the fuel source of cells. The mass production of ATP gives the body ample energy to do its work of healing itself. Cold laser therapy utilizes a hand-held laser that penetrates the skin without damaging or even warming it.
At Utah Sports and Wellness, we use the Erchonia FX635 laser, the only FDA-approved laser approved for Musculo-skeletal pain, Low back pain, Plantar Fasciitis and Shoulder pain. Cold laser therapy is good for both acute and chronic pain.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Radial extracorporeal shockwave treatment is a noninvasive treatment that involves the delivery of shockwaves to the painful region with the objective of reducing pain and promoting healing of the affected soft tissue. ESWT is recommended for: Achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, calcific tendonitis of the shoulder (rotator cuff), tennis elbow, golfers’ elbow, greater trochanter bursitis.
The mechanism of action in ESWT is based on shockwaves interrupting pain pathways of the inflamed nerves at cellular levels. This leads to restoration of healthy nerve function and promotes new blood vessel growth to facilitate natural healing.
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)
FSM is an electric therapeutic, LOW RISK, NON-INVASIVE & INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE Physical Therapy modality. Used by chiropractors, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and PT’s alike to ease pain and accelerate healing. We use FSM for nerve pain, muscle aches, joint pain, and many other conditions such as arthritis, fractures, scar removal, fibromyalgia, shingles, using specific frequencies and micro amperage current.
FSM works by changing cell signaling. The frequencies change cell membrane receptor configuration back to the normal state and restore cell function and structure by changing pigenetic expression. The water in cells is structured as a semiconductor gel and conducts both current and information. When the frequencies change genetic expression, the cell changes state. Drugs and nutrients act like keys in a lock. FSM frequencies act like the key fob that opens one specific lock with a specific unique signal.
